The Mineralogical Society of Victoria was established in March 1976 with the aim of fostering an interest in Mineralogy. The Society is a friendly and welcoming group for anyone with an interest in rocks, minerals and crystals and our members range from interested beginners to world-renowned professional mineralogists.
We run meetings and field trips throughout the year, including General Meetings with guest speaker every second ('even') month. Our Special Interest subgroups hold monthly mineral-topic study gatherings on weekends to look at microscopic (Micro Group) or larger (MAG) minerals. These meetings are held on weekends and are open to all Members. Visitors are most welcome to attend Meetings and other events. Further updates on activities can be found in our Forward Diary on this page on our Facebook page, by clicking on the following link: MinSocVic Facebook Page UPDATES:
